DODGER STADIUM — A goose found its way onto the field at Dodger Stadium during the eighth inning of Game 2 of the NLDS playoff series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres Wednesday.
The Dodgers were batting in the bottom of the eighth – down two with two outs – in a crucial late-game opportunity when the camera caught a goose lying in the middle of the outfield.
"We thought we had seen everything in the game," one commentator said. "But now a new friend wants to join our party."
"I don't want to necessarily bother our feathered friend here," the other commentator said. "Ducks are very aggressive."
The game continued after the goose was spotted, with the Dodgers attempting a comeback down 5-3.
The goose's party eventually came to an end when the grounds crew chased it down and corralled it into a trash can, and the Dodgers were unable to complete the comeback, allowing the Padres to tie the series 1-1.
