THE VERGE OF CONSCIOUSNESS — It has been a rare occasion that I have experienced absolute terror. It's not because I am brave, but because I'm not smart enough to recognize a dire situation when I'm in the middle of one.

Maybe that's why I love roller coasters so much. I'm too stupid to realize there could be any danger because I assume people much brighter than I designed and built these things, so I am safe. If I had made it, however, I'd never let myself or anyone I love get within 100 yards. I have nearly passed out on a roller coaster, but that's an embarrassing story for another day.

On the other hand, this guy not only passed out but managed to do so multiple times. The good news, however, is he kept a firm grip on his dignity in his lucid moments. Well, that's not true, but he is wildly entertaining.

This guy was clearly terrified to get on this roller coaster. I'm unsure if he did so willingly or if his friends forced him, but he's there nonetheless. He is in hysterics as the train climbs the first precipice, and not long after the initial drop, he's out cold.

Watching his lifeless body experience weightlessness is somehow adorable. It's the same way a parent looks at a child sound asleep. The innocence and love you feel as you watch them sleep are tangible. This is insane, considering that snoozing child was a cruel dictator not 30 minutes ago, thanks to a peanut butter sandwich because it didn't have any gummy worms.

Kudos to this guy for facing his fears. Well, kind of. Is it facing them if you're not conscious to experience it?
