Police investigating 'suspicious death' of woman in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — Police are calling a woman's death "suspicious" after her body was found on the side of the road at 1715 W. 200 South before 7 p.m. on Monday.

Homicide detectives are in the beginning stages of the investigation, Salt Lake police spokesman Brent Weisberg said, and it is "too soon" to confirm the cause of the woman's death. Police also tweeted that "there is no apparent risk to our community."

Salt Lake police have not yet released the name of the woman who died.
