1. 2 deputies shot, suspect dead in shooting outside Salt Lake County Jail
Two deputies were shot in the face and critically injured on the lawn near the parking lot for both the Salt Lake County sheriff's office building and jail complex on the corner of 3300 South and 900 West, while doing a routine check of the campus.

As most Utahns look forward to COVID-19 no longer dominating their daily lives, those who've had the deadly virus and continue to struggle with debilitating and difficult-to-treat long-term symptoms are hoping they won't be forgotten.
3. 4 arrested after task force busts clandestine lab in Heber City
Four people were arrested after a task force discovered a clandestine lab inside a Heber City house Friday evening.

Two stranded climbers in Little Cottonwood Canyon were able to climb to safety after a search and rescue team used high-powered lights to guide them to a safe descent Friday night.
The Food and Drug Administration will evaluate "as quickly as possible" Pfizer's request to expand the emergency use authorization of the drug maker's COVID-19 vaccine to include people ages 12-15 in the United States, the FDA said.

1. Finau finishes tied for 10th as Matsuyama becomes Japan's first-ever Masters champion
The Rose Park native finished with a four-day total of 3-under-par 285, tied with Cameron Smith, who like Finau earned the third top-10 finish at the Masters of his career.

4. No. 3 Weber State rallies by Idaho State to clinch first-ever outright Big Sky title
After trailing 15-14 late in the fourth quarter, the Wildcats did what they've done all season long: battled back to claim a 20-15 victory over the visiting Idaho State Bengals.
5. Utah Valley top scorer J.J. Overton joining former Utah State standout at Weber State
The 6-foot-6, 190-pound senior from San Diego will graduate and transfer to Weber State for his final season of eligibility, a source confirmed to KSL.com.
