(KSL News) -- Utah County will now have some extra help with winter search and rescues. Summit County officially opened their new search and rescue facility today.
It's in Kamas, centrally located at the base of the Uintas. The new building will house all of the search and rescue equipment in one place for the first time.
Dale Edmunds, Summit Co. Search & Rescue: "We are just extremely fortunate to have this state of the art equipment because we have so many search and rescue deployments in Summit County. One of the most in the state if not the most. This allows us to respond to any of those incidents with the utmost professionalism."
The funding came partly from Summit County and federal emergency preparedness funds.
