(KSL News) Police arrested two men caught stealing parts from a car parked in an apartment complex.
It happened near 700 North and 900 West in Salt Lake City just before 1:00 this morning. A resident noticed the two men had jacked up a car and were taking the tires off.
"It seemed suspicious that these two individuals were stealing tires from one vehicle and putting them into another vehicle," said Lt. Fred Louis with the Salt Lake City Police Department.
When police arrived, the men took off. Officers set up a containment and, with the help of the canine unit, caught both suspects.
Luis Loera and Uziel Vasquez are in jail, facing several charges.
