TAYLORSVILLE — Police are investigating an alleged stabbing after an injured man was dropped off at a hospital late Thursday night.

A 23-year-old man who had been stabbed multiple times was left at St. Mark’s Hospital shortly after 11 p.m., according to Unified police. The people who dropped the man off did not stay with the victim, but a hospital staff member was able to get some information from them before they left.

The employee told officers the stabbing happened on Copper City Drive in Kearns, according to police. They are now looking for two men who are believed to have been involved.

The victim was in critical condition and police were not able to speak to him before he went into surgery, police said. By Friday afternoon, the man had improved to fair condition, according to Unified police detective Ken Hansen.

“It’s going to take a little while to put the bits and pieces together on this case,” said Kearns Precinct Chief Brian Lohrke. “Hopefully we find out what happened and we get somebody in custody.”

No other updates about the stabbing were available on Friday afternoon.
