NORTH SALT LAKE — Authorities on Sunday identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash Saturday evening.
The crash happened about 5 p.m. near 500 South on Legacy Parkway, according to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Jacob Cox.
Michael Fredrickson, 36, was found by troopers who responded to a report of crash on the highway. The incident was reported after an individual who lives in the area “heard something crash, looked out the window (and) saw a bunch of dust.” That person then called 911 to report a crash, officials said.
Details about how the crash occurred were not immediately available.
Fredrickson did not have a motorcycle endorsement on his driver’s license and was not legally allowed to operate the vehicle.
Officials are unsure what may have caused the crash but said speed or inexperience are being looked into as possible factors.
The investigation remains ongoing.
