NORTH SALT LAKE — A 36-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle crash Saturday evening, officials report.
The crash happened about 5 p.m. near 500 South on Legacy Parkway, according to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Jacob Cox.
No witnesses saw the crash happen but an individual who lives near the area "heard something crash, looked out the window (and) saw a bunch of dust." The individual then reported the crash to authorities, Cox said.
The man, who officials have not identified, didn't have a motorcycle endorsement and was not legally allowed to operate a motorcycle. Officials are unsure what may have caused the crash but speed or inexperience are being looked into as possible factors, Cox said.
"There's too many questions right now as far as what happened and what went wrong," he added.
The investigation remains ongoing. Further details about the crash were not immediately available.
