(KSL News) Christmas is still most of three months away, but a Utah organization is already getting into the holiday spirit.
Operation Give launched "Operation Christmas Stocking" today to try to send some cheer to soldiers in the Middle East. The project asks people to donate stockings full of hygiene goods and other gifts to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"We want to show them through this little effort that we care about them, that we still are thinking about them and want them to come home soon," said Paul Holton, president of Operation Give.
The first shipment goes out Nov. 1 and will take a month and a half to get to the soldiers. For information on how you can donate, click the related link.
