ON THE ROAD — Consumers, scientists and tech savvy roadsters alike have become fascinated with Elon Musk’s pet project, Tesla Motors — and for good reason.
They’re energy efficient, they come with all kinds of bells and whistles (like the autopilot feature) and Musk has said that anyone can use its patents to replicate the Tesla’s electric technology to spread the trend and cause less dependence on fossil fuels.
While some of the features have been misused or have seemingly gone haywire, a recently released video shows a Tesla in action, registering an impending crash and braking before a two-car crash could escalate.
Original video, authorisation from the owner. Essential, no one could predict the accident but the radar did and acted by emergency braking. pic.twitter.com/70MySRiHGR

Originally posted on Twitter by Hans Noordsij, the dashcam footage taken by Frank van Hoesel shows just how quickly a Tesla can anticipate and avoid on-road catastrophe.
A smooth ride on the roadway is only momentarily interrupted by a pleasant-sounding “beep” before the emergency braking is activated. Subsequently, two cars collide, causing one of them to roll.
Yesterday's Have You Seen This?
According to the description on the YouTube video, no one was seriously injured.
If we pretend that the price tag doesn’t only seem sane to professional athletes and CEOs, does a video like this make you more likely to consider a Tesla?
