A low-fare airline is trying a different approach to selling tickets, and Salt Lake City is included.

Industry experts say it's a good way to get some attention. JetBlue is auctioning off more than 300 round-trip tickets and six vacation packages on eBay. The bidding starts between 5 cents and 10 cents. So far it's been in the $20 to $50 range, although it's expected to climb.

Chris and Mark like the idea. Chris said, "It's great if you can get them for cheaper than they're selling them regularly."

Mark told us, "Anything that's good for the customer is always good."

But a man named Trevor said, "Usually I have a specific place to go rather than just wanting to go anywhere and trying to find a low bid."

Trevor said the low fare might change his mind, though.

Analysts do expect the bidding to get within 85 to 95 percent of the actual value.
