A BAG OF CHEETOS — Anyone with a car and a camera can take a picture of the iconic Delicate Arch, but it takes true talent to locate it in a bag of Cheetos.

Cheetos is currently holding a contest for consumers who find interesting shaped Cheetos and upload a picture of them to the Community Gallery at the Cheetos Museum website. The company will award $10,000 each to 10 winners, according to Cheetos Museum.

With $10,000 on the line, it’s worth suffering through Cheetos fingers for days to find a tasty chip that closely resembles something recognizable. If Wheat Thins held a similar contest, I wouldn’t have eaten the Idaho-shaped cracker that made its way into my mouth a few years ago.

Last Wednesday, Katherine Campbell of Brigham City found an accurate representation of Delicate Arch in a bag of Cheetos.

Campbell said her family doesn’t normally eat that kind of thing, but her kids are going to a day camp “and so we were kind of trying to make it fun and say OK what kind of snack do you want?”

Her kids typically go for the puffy Cheetos, but when they saw the contest printed on the bag of the crunchy variety, they wanted to try it.

Her kids came up with different ideas for what their Cheetos could look like, but a lot of them were kind of a stretch, she said.

“But then we pulled that one out, and we’re like, “Oh my goodness … not only is it like an arch shape, but … it’s skinny in the right place and fat in the right place,” Campbell said. “We’ve been to Arches a couple of times, and so we all kind of thought it looked like it. And it was kind of awesome, kind of funny.”

The Cheetos contest runs until Aug. 15. It is unclear if the company will choose all 10 winners at once or if they’ll choose one per week.

Campbell said if they win the prize money, they will probably use a small amount for a vacation and put the rest in savings or put it toward their house or something like that.
