SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A cab ride in Salt Lake City is becoming more expensive.
The Salt Lake City Council agreed to raise the per-mile rate for cabs from $2 to $2.25.
Taxi drivers asked for the hike to offset the price of gasoline.
In the past year alone, the price of gas has increased 19 percent. This is the fourth taxi rate boost since 2005.
