(KSL News) A former Provo narcotics officer died this morning from liver cancer. He believed exposure to meth chemicals may have caused it.
An Eyewitness News investigation last year first uncovered the mysterious myriad off illnesses of more than 80 Utah drug officers who busted meth labs in the 1990's.
Trent Halladay, 37, was an officer for 11 years, including six and a half years with the major crimes task force.
A friend and colleague of Halladay's tells us Halladay had a stroke July 5th, and he'd been bed-ridden ever since.
Halladay leaves behind a wife and two young boys.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Provo Mutual Aid.
