SYRACUSE, Utah (AP) -- Construction on a new elementary school in Syracuse is behind schedule and officials aren't sure if the building will be ready for the district's first day of classes.
Davis School District's first day of classes is scheduled for Aug. 25. But that date may have to be pushed back for Buffalo Point students if construction crews can't make up time over the next month and a half.
District officials say the contractor has extra workers on the site, but they can't rush the job and take safety risks. They expect to know by Aug. 1 whether the school will open on time.
