DADDYBERG — Let’s be honest, we tend to pay a little more attention to Mother’s Day than Father’s Day.
I’m not going to say whether or not this is fair, but I don’t believe extra mom attention at all diminishes what dads mean to us, even if they don’t get as many presents, flowers and treats on Father’s Day. I’m also not going to say what your dad may mean to you, but rather perhaps what you may mean to your dad.
To celebrate fathers, Dove Men+Care released a video mashup of the very moment various men find out they’re going to be dads. The video shows tender emotions and true excitement as it dawns on each man that they are fathers-to-be.
You can’t help but feel a few warm fuzzies, if not a new appreciation for what your dad may have felt when he found out that he was going to meet you. My own father told me that feeling of joy and excitement was a powerful experience each and every time he found out his nine children and 26 grandchildren were coming into this world. (Happy Father’s Day, Daddy-O!)
If this video doesn’t affect you in some way, let it instead serve as a reminder that Father’s Day is Sunday. So send a card, make a phone call or otherwise celebrate the father and father figures in your life.
