SALT LAKE CITY — June is National Safety Month and a great time to review key safety issues and opportunities to improve workplace safety at your organization. Below are free resources to help.

1. Free safety vests and an opportunity to show commitment to safety.

In addition to National Safety Month, the 2014 Utah Legislature passed legislation to recognize the fourth week of June as Utah Workplace Safety Week. On June 23, join the Lieutenant Governor Spencer J. Cox, employers and workers from around the state at the largest safety demonstration in Utah to kickoff Utah Workplace Safety Week. Register for free safety vests to wear at the event.

2. Free safety program guide.

A company with an effective safety program in place will have fewer accidents. This reduced frequency translates into lower costs. Worker Compensation Fund offers a practical free guide to get a company started in setting up a safety program.

3. Free safety training.

Industrial Supply will promote safety at its annual tool event, Celebrating Safety at Toolapalooza, in Orem on June 18 and in Salt Lake City on June 19. The events will include free demonstrations of safety equipment and tools, lunch and product giveaways. Find more information online.
