OREM — Utah Valley University has launched the Fast Track 1-2-3 program, an initiative designed to help students complete workforce-ready degrees in as little as one to three years while reducing educational costs through strategic partnerships and flexible course offerings.

"We know that every student is unique," said Wendy Simmerman, UVU's senior director of workforce alignment, in making the announcement. "The Fast Track 1-2-3 program allows crucial workforce needs to be met quickly by students who are motivated and driven to complete these industry-ready credentials at an accelerated pace."

Fast Track 1-2-3 will allow students to complete workforce-ready degrees in one, two or three years, the press release said.

Through Fast Track 1-2-3, students can:

  • Earn degrees faster through accelerated and flexible course offerings
  • Reduce educational costs by leveraging concurrent enrollment and prior learning credits
  • Build career-ready skills with hands-on experience and industry-aligned curriculum
  • Create a personalized pathway that fits their unique goals and life circumstances

"Over the last several years, we have invested in strengthening pathways from K-12 to higher education and making the transfer process from tech college to university more streamlined and efficient," said Wayne Vaught, UVU provost and senior vice president of Academic Affairs. "Fast Track 1-2-3 leverages opportunities that students have available through high school concurrent enrollment, tech colleges and employer partnerships to obtain workforce-ready degrees quickly."

One-year programs include diesel technology, automotive technology and emergency services operations. Two-year options include a Bachelor of Applied Science in transportation technology, while three-year fast tracks include a Bachelor of Science in nursing and elementary education.
