HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah (AP) -- Hill Air Force Base's early retirement offer is a popular choice.

Employees at the base are jumping at the $25,000 incentive to retire. The Utah base is trying to reduce its workforce and hopes to have 400 civilian employees retire before the end of May.

Hill officials say more than 700 people have already applied.

Hill officials will identify and approve early-retirement candidates through April 18.
