ROSENBERG, Texas — We see dashcam videos all the time these days and it seems most are frightening or disturbing, but this one is different.
A police officer in Rosenberg, Texas was on patrol and pulled into an apartment complex and saw a young boy tossing a football around by himself. The cop decided to stop his car and be awesome.
He simply got out and played catch with the young man and the whole thing was caught on his dashcam.
Maybe I'm way more of a sap than I thought, but something about this video just warms the cockles of my heart. Too often police get the reputation as gruff and rough characters who love to show off their authority, but there are a lot of officers who just have a love for their community and want to do their part to make it better.
This officer saw a young kid and decided to make his day by making him an all-star wide receiver for at least a few tosses.
I hope this video inspires all of us a little. I've actually got a challenge for all of you reading this; take a minute today to go out of your way to make someone else's day.
I'll take on the challenge and I hope you do too. Let us know what you did to make the world a bit happier today on the comment boards or send me an email.
