(KSL News) Brigham Young University has received a donation that's almost 400 years old.

Provo resident Thor Leifson, the honorary consul of Iceland emeritus, donated an old Norse Bible to BYU's library.

Leifson says the Bible was given to his family by an LDS missionary four generations ago.

The six-inch tome, written in the modern Icelandic language, is part of the second edition printed in Iceland.

BYU curators say the Bible is extremely rare.
