OREM, Utah (AP) -- Hours after immigration officers arrested dozens of undocumented workers at a Linden manufacturing plant, hundreds of friends and family members turned out for a community meeting at a local church.
Projecto Latino de Utah Director Tony Yapias says the fear among immigrant families spread quickly statewide after the raid at Universal Industrial Sales Thursday. More than 50 workers were arrested.
Workers from Utah's Department of Human Services and the Department of Workforce Services also came to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church to begin to help families connect with needed social services.
