SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Utah Division of Water Resources says six Utah water companies have failed to meet requirements of the Water Conservation Plan Act.

The agency says the West Corrine Water Company has never filed a conservation plan. Five others -- Brian Head Water Supply, Escalante Culinary Water, North Logan Culinary Water System, South Salt Lake Culinary Water and St. George City -- have not met deadlines for updating and resubmitting five-year plans.

Water Resources division director Dennis Strong says the plans are a key part of a statewide effort to reduce per capita water use by 25 percent through 2050.

The law requires the names of non-compliant companies be made public.
