(KSL News) -- Crews evacuated a Sandy business today when they discovered a propane leak.
The leak was found around 6:30 this morning when employees were getting ready to open the Lowes Home Improvement Store located near 200 W. 9000 South.
Fire officials say the smell of gas lingered in a 20- foot radius around a 500-gallon tank just outside the store.
They shut off the main line and they say that contained the problem.
Capt. Mike Vendendall, Sandy City Fire Dept.: "If we have any isolations in the store, then we'll put some fans in there and push that out, but we think it's pretty good at this point.
Crews closed surface streets, but re-opened them a short time later.
