Becky Bruce reporting Tomorrow night is going to be critical if Holladay is to get a new neighborhood in where Cottonwood Mall used to be.

The Granite School District will only get two votes out of the eight on the Taxing Entity Committee, but the new Cottonwood Mall needs a super-majority of six of those votes to get approval. The school board meets Tuesday night.

To that end, both sides have been sending out fliers and doing whatever they can to win over the school board. But developer Kris Longson says he's staying optimistic. "Speaking to all of my neighbors, and stuff around, they're very excited because of how well this fits into the community and what it means; not only just to Holladay, but the state of Utah as a whole," he said.

If approved, there would be a Riverside Park and 15 acres of open space along with the development.
