(KSL News) Two dead ducks are getting a lot of attention in North Salt Lake.

Julie Piep and several other neighbors saw a bobcat walking out of the yard where the ducks were killed.

Piep says, "One neighbor boy came running, saying, 'Oh the ducks are dead,' and was very upset."

Jacob Stone said, "Then I saw the cat and I ran."

Wildlife officers put a live trap with a duck in it as bait, with hopes of catching the bobcat alive and releasing it into the wild.

Bobcats quite often come down into the city and do pose a threat to small pets. Wildlife officers say they're only dangerous to humans if cornered.

If you see a bobcat, call wildlife officers and give the bobcat plenty of room.
