SALT LAKE CITY — The renovated Mormon temple in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is ready for public tours then rededication.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the public is invited to visit the temple during an open house from Aug. 4 - 25, excluding Sundays. The temple will be formally rededicated on Sept. 9.

In conjunction with the rededication of the temple, there will also be a cultural celebration featuring music and dance on Sept. 8.

The Buenos Aires Argentina Temple was originally dedicated by church President Thomas S. Monson in 1986. It was the first temple built in Argentina and closed for renovation in November 2009.

Renovation was to include upgrading the temple's mechanical systems and bringing the temple up to current standards.
