LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON -- A motorcyclist was involved in an unlucky crash Saturday afternoon, but is lucky a witness saw him do it.

The rider was on his way up Little Cottonwood Canyon, but couldn't make the turn at Lisa Falls, crashing into trees about 20-feet below, off the road.

Fortunately, Page Tyler was on his way down the canyon and saw the man go over the side.

"I don't know if they would have found him because there were no skid marks or anything," Tyler said.

The motorcyclist suffered a broken leg and had possible chest injuries.

"It looked like his leg was broken and he was having trouble breathing," said witness James Andrews.

The rider was taken to the hospital via air med helicopter with several injuries. His status is unknown at this time.

No official word has been given as to why the motorcycle veered off the roadway, but police officers are suspecting speed was a factor.
