(KSL News) -- Some Bountiful businesses are surveying the damage after a fire broke out at a strip mall early this morning.
A passerby called to report the fire at the Thonpayaki restaurant. Crews arrived in two minutes and found heavy smoke and flames.
The roof was about to collapse, so firefighters had to leave the inside of the building and fight it from the outside.
Neighboring businesses suffered mostly smoke and water damage because the fire did not spread to any other buildings.
Sean Bruyon, Owns Neighboring Business: "We were very fortunate from what the fire marshall said he believes the fire stopped because of a cinderblock wall in between the Thonpayaki restaurant and the law offices so of the bridal image"
No one was in the buildings at the time. The estimate damage is around 500 thousand dollars.
Firefighters say they will have to bring in heavy equipment to clear the area before they can determine a cause of the fire.
