MAGNA -- Police are trying to determine exactly what happened when a man was shot to death in Magna.
Officers were called to a home near 3300 South and 8800 West just after midnight by a man who claimed a friend had come over to visit, grabbed a gun and shot himself.
When police arrived, they found a man dead and a very intoxicated homeowner. They now are trying to verify his story.
Lt. Jason Johnson of the Unified Police Department said, "Any time we investigate any type of a death you just never know initially. We treat them all the same, and there is a process we follow."
Police have not released the name of the victim nor the name of the man living at the home.
