SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Police have identified the 25-year-old victim of a fatal Saturday night motorcycle accident. They are investigating whether the crash came during a road race at about 3900 South and 3300 East.
Unified Police Department Lt. Don Hutson says deputies saw the bike and a Corvette driving at an "extremely high rate of speed" about 2 a.m. Sunday in the Millcreek area.
The deputies saw a car pull into an intersection to turn and it collided with the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, identified as Deloss Garrett Dahle of Salt Lake City, was dead at the scene and the two 19-year-old women in the car suffered minor injuries.
The Corvette returned to the scene shortly after the crash. Hutson says indications are that they were racing.
