PROVO, Utah (AP) -- A plan to move the trial for a man charged in the death of Kiplyn Davis out of Utah County is on hold while a judge works out details of the change of venue.
Fourth District Judge Lynn Davis hasn't issued the order to move the trial for Timmy Brent Olsen because he wants to make sure it won't be heard in the Matheson Courthouse in Salt Lake City. He also wants to find out whether he'll continue to hear the case.
Davis says moving the trial to the Matheson Courthouse might not be good enough to avoid prejudicial publicity because it's only a few blocks from where Olsen was sentenced to prison for lying to a grand jury about the case.
The trial is supposed to be moved to West Jordan. Olsen is charged with murder in the death of the 15-year-old Davis, who disappeared from Spanish Fork High School in 1995. Her body has never been found.
