SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (AP) -- Police assigned to patrol the evacuees and Camp Williams say they've had very few problems.
There's approximately 550 evacuees currently living at Camp Williams.
Law enforcement officers have screened the evacuees to make sure there weren't, for example, pedophiles housed in barracks next to children.
Department of Public Safety Captain Robert Anderson says only one incident was found. He says that person will be required to register as a sex offender while in Utah.
Anderson says an undisclosed amount of weapons were seized in New Orleans before some of the evacuees board the plane to be flown to Utah. They were screened again once they arrived in Utah, but no weapons were found.
So far, Anderson says the biggest problem has been medical. He says several evacuees have had to be taken to local hospital for various ailments.
Anderson says officials are now preparing for more possible evacuees.
