PROVO, Utah (AP) -- An injured Orem hiker is safe this morning after being rescued yesterday from Mount Timpanogos.
Authorities say the rescue of a 17-year-old boy who suffered an ankle injury took seven hours.
Utah County Sheriff's Sergeant Darrin Gilbert says the boy started his hike about three a-m yesterday with his brother and friend.
Gilbert says the boy's brother and friend were not injured and were able to help the injured boy to the Timpanogos Emergency Response Team's shelter. He was then brought off the mountain by rescuers.
