Fewer mothers opting for early, elective deliveries

Scheduling an early Cesarean sections or induction has often been the answer once mom makes it to 37 of the typical 40-week gestation, but a recent push by the March of Dimes to have moms wait it out has made a big dent in early delivery rates.

As a mother of seven children, ages 19 years down to 11 months — including those with Asperger's syndrome, ADHD, and a caboose I birthed at age 46 — I'll share a brief series of motherhood lessons learned. The first lesson: At some point you will feel humiliated.
