BLUFFDALE — An employee working for Olympus Precast, a concrete product manufacturer, was killed Thursday after large concrete panels fell on him and trapped him underneath, fire officials said.

Bluffdale Fire Chief Matt Evans said his crew was called about 12:45 p.m. to respond to an industrial accident. "We were informed that some big cement slabs had fallen on a on a victim," Evans said, and that the victim died in the accident.

An investigation is underway into the cause of the accident.

Olympus Precast has an indoor manufacturing facility for production of concrete retaining walls and fences, and an outdoor yard.
