South Salt Lake police officer David Romrell, 31, died Saturday evening after he was struck by a vehicle during a confrontation with two alleged burglars, one of whom was shot and killed by police.

3. Catastrophic Northern California fire is finally contained

A massive wildfire that killed dozens of people and destroyed thousands of homes in Northern California was fully contained Sunday after burning for more than two weeks.

4. EU seals Brexit deal as May faces a hard sell at home

1. Utah rallies to top rival BYU 35-27

Jason Shelley threw for 141 yards and a touchdown and added 61 yards and another score on the ground to fuel the rally. Armand Shyne also ran for a pair of touchdowns, including the go-ahead score, to bring the Utes back from a 20-point third quarter deficit.

2. Utes up to No. 17, Aggies drop in latest national rankings

Avoiding a disastrous ending to the regular season, Utah pulled away from the BYU Cougars late to claim a 35-27 victory Saturday night. As a result, Utah moved up to No. 17 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and stayed at No. 17 in the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll that was released Sunday.

3. The Ultimate Warrior: Corbin Kaufusi delays 3 surgeries to play last game with BYU

Corbin Kaufusi pulled himself into the cramped post-game media room located underneath Rice-Eccles Stadium, his pads still stuck to his kin, wads of tape around his ankles, and a massive metal brace sustained his right arm.

4. Boise State beats Utah State, gets Mountain West title shot

Brett Rypien threw for 310 yards and a touchdown, Alexander Mattison rushed for 200 yards and three scores, and the No. 21 Broncos beat No. 14 Utah State 33-24 on Saturday night.

5. BYU, Utah drawn into NCAA volleyball regional in Provo

BYU will host American East champion Stony Brook (21-8) at 7 p.m. MT Friday in the Smith Fieldhouse. The winner of that match will face the winner of Utah (18-13) at Summit League champ Denver (27-2), which will precede BYU’s start time by three hours in Provo.
