MIDVALE — Police are searching for a man who pulled a gun on a motel clerk in Midvale.

Midvale police said a man in a dark-colored hoodie approached the front desk at the Super 8 at 7048 S. 900 East early Friday morning.

The man fired one shot at the clerk but it hit a nearby office chair. No one was injured.

The gunman then ran out of the motel while the clerk called police.

Investigators believe he wanted money but they aren't sure if he got away with anything.
