SINGLE LANE — It’s Valentine’s Day! For those of you who have a special someone, you know this is a day to remind your partner how much you love them. It’s also a day to let loved ones, not just a significant other, know you care about them.

But for those who don’t have a partner, you may know Valentine’s Day as “Single Awareness Day.”

It seems like there’s unneeded pressure to not be alone. This has been unfairly emphasized toward woman by media and even advertisers. There's been an expectation created by society and media that a woman's sense of self or worth is attached to not being alone. For whatever reason, men have not been as much of a target of this societal pressure of not being alone, despite the fact that men, like women, also have the same feelings when it comes to finding a partner.

We’ve seen the old storyline of “single woman looking for their true love” in movies, TV show or books. All the constant reminders we get from TV, movies and ads about Valentine’s Day has seemingly put an added pressure on society to have a partner and not be alone.

Leave it up to comedians John Crist and Trey Kennedy to produce a satire laughing at the stereotypes attached to being a single woman on Valentine's Day.

In this hilarious video, the duo walks around a Target store and say things perhaps a pair of frustrated single ladies would say. Trey and John have plenty of funny sassiness, attitude and sarcasm.

Some of the best lines include:

“This salad has more dates than I’ve went on in the past year.”

“Well, at least Easter is right around the corner. Thanks for a man who actually kept his word.”

Trey: Girl, instead of being petty, let’s just go get a pedi. John: Mani too.

“Oh, I’m sure everyone is getting their love letters this Valentine’s Day. You know which letter I’m getting this holiday? An ‘L.’”

My favorite: John sadly grabbing two big tubs of cat litter.

And just today, the duo posted part two.

Finding someone shouldn’t be a race against time, it should be something that happens when love finally works its magic on you. So go out there and enjoy Valentine’s Day for whatever it means to you, whether you’re single or in a relationship.

Besides, Feb. 14 shouldn’t be the only day you express your love and appreciation to a loved one. That should be every day.
