PLEASANT GROVE — Southbound I-15 has partially reopened following a fatal crash in Pleasant Grove on Thursday.

A Chevrolet Cobalt traveling south in the right lane Thursday morning lost control and was struck on the driver's side by a pickup truck pulling a trailer that was loaded with a forklift, Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden said. The crash occurred near the Pleasant Grove Boulevard exit, he said.

The driver of the Cobalt was taken to the hospital where he later died, Roden said. The truck driver was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, he said.

All southbound lanes were closed near 500 East in American Fork for a couple of hours, but several lanes reopened shortly after 12:30 p.m.

Officials have not identified the man who was killed and more information was not immediately available.
