PARK CITY — Canyons Resort held its annual pond skimming contest on Saturday, March 22. Costumed contestants zipped down the mountain on skis or snowboards, then attempted to skim across a 100-foot-long pond.
Only a handful of contestants safely reached the end of the pond. Most of them splashed into the chilly water, much to the delight of the boisterous crowd. A judging panel ranked each skimmer on elements such as their costume and style. Awards were given out to top performers and everyone seemed to have an incredible time in the beautiful spring weather. Grant Olsen joined the KSL.com team in 2012.
