KAMCHATKA PENINSULA, Russia Russian scientists have observed increased activity from a volcano in the far northeastern part of the country.

The volcano called Shiveluch is located on the Kamchatka Peninsula and is within the pacific's so-called ring of fire, a long line of volcanoes that extend all the way to Indonesia.

The scientists use special cameras so they can measure and gauge its activity.

The last major eruption was in 2010, and experts believe eruptions this year won't be as strong as a year ago.

Over the past ten years there have been strong eruptions every other year.

The area still doesn't have an effective warning system according to scientists in the area.
