HAZLETON, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania mayor took it upon himself to spruce up his office before he was sworn in.
The Standard-Speaker (http://bit.ly/1ShkS07 ) says Hazleton Mayor Jeff Cusat used his own money and elbow grease to paint his office earlier this year. He also bought a carpet-cleaning machine.
Now, he's using money from a nonprofit fund he created to spruce up the paint in the hallways at City Hall.
Once that's finished, the mayor is hoping the Greater Hazelton Historical Society and the Hazleton Art League will help create displays to spruce up the hallways.
Hazleton is about 100 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
