SALT LAKE CITY -- A man convicted of running a prostitution ring in Cottonwood Heights went before the Utah Court of Appeals Wednesday.
Steven Maese was convicted in 2008 of exploiting prostitution and racketeering in connection with owning and running the Doll House escort service.
Maese, who is representing himself, claims the state violated his constitutional rights. He says those errors created an unfair trial.
A judge earlier denied Maese's request for a new trial.
A ruling will be made on Wednesday's appeal in the coming weeks.
