(KSL TV) a Riverton man has been killed in an industrial accident in Draper.
Authorities say the man was operating a backhoe in a sand pit at Geneva Rock when he was buried alive.
The body of the man was found this morning shortly after 3 am when a truck driver came to pick up a load of sand.
He then found the man -- still sitting in his backhoe -- and buried up to his neck.
Fire crews were to uncover the man in under 30 minutes, but it was too late.
It is now known how long the man was buried before his body was found. Geneva Rock says that the man was an independent worker helping to move the sand. It is not know if his shift began last night or early this morning.
Authorities are not releasing the name of the worker until his family is notified.
