SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah power forward Carlos Boozer scored 12 points in the first quarter as the Jazz defeated the Toronto Raptors 104-91 Wednesday night.
Boozer shot 6-8 from the field and scored 12 points in the quarter as the Jazz jumped out to a 33-17 lead. But it wasn't just his scoring that was impressive.
Carlos brought energy to the floor, hustling after loose balls and making big plays for the Jazz.
Many have been critical of the Jazz play of late after losing two of their first four games at home. But Wednesday's victory got the Jazz back on the winning track.

Rookie Eric Maynor scored 11 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter and helped the Utah Jazz hang on for a 104-91 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night."It took us a little bit of time to gel, but we're there," Boozer said in his post game interview. "We're having fun right now."
Carlos finished with a double-double, scoring 22 points and grabbing 18 rebounds. Both stats are above his season average of 18 and 11.
Boozer capped the night off with a monstrous slam dunk late in the fourth quarter after getting an offensive rebound. He was called for a technical foul for hanging onto the rim, but most Jazz fans didn't care. It appeared that Carlos brought his tough mentality and attitude back into his game, something that has been lacking.
"I just had to relax," Boozer said in regards to his slow start this season. "Sometimes you press too hard because you want something so bad."
The Jazz travel to San Antonio to take on the Spurs Thursday night.
