SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A new Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant will hold its grand opening today. But it's not just any KFC.
It's at the site of the very first Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise.
The first KFC sat on State Street for 52-years and was demolished earlier this year. It's been replaced by a brand new KFC along with a museum that includes one of the first pressure-cookers Pete Harman used to fry up the popular chicken with eleven secret herbs.
Harland Sanders perfected the recipe in the 1930s. He became known as Colonel Sanders after a Kentucky governor called him that.
Sanders died in 1980 at the age of 90.
Harman, now 85 and living in Los Altos, is expected to attend the grand opening.
