(KSL News) -- A new jersey will be gracing the rafters of the Delta Center this season.
The Jazz have just announced they'll be retiring jersey number 12, John Stockton, on November 22nd when the Jazz host the New Orleans Hornets.
Stockton retired at the end of the 2002-2003 season as the all-time assist leader with 15,806 and the all time steals leader with 3,265 and a lock for the hall of fame.
Stockton was drafted by the jazz in 1984 from Gonzaga University and quickly quieted his doubters making the all-rookie team.
Perhaps nobody appreciates and respects Stockton as a person or a player more than Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan.
Jerry Sloan, Jazz Head Coach: "There's no question, he did a tremendous job for us...he was a great player, but more than that he was a great person, a great family man....he has a great family and we just want to wish him the best"
Again, John Stockton's jersey will be retired November 22nd, a chance for Utah to say thanks, one last time.
