SALT LAKE CITY - A man convicted of murdering his fiancé more than a decade ago will not get a new trial, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
Lawyers for Billy Justin Charles argued his conviction should be thrown out because a juror in the case did not reveal he had worked with Charles' uncle. However, a judge disagreed and ordered the case move forward and Charles be sentenced on Thursday for the crime.
Charles was found guilty of murdering Jamie Ellen Weiss in 1996, just days before their wedding. He was not charged until last year, when DNA tests linked him to the death.
